Jennifer Carter
Aerial Arts has been my passion for the past seven years. I was drawn to this form of movement not only for its beauty and strength, but for the way it helped me reconnect with myself and transformed my relationship with my body.
Since beginning my Aerial Hoop journey in 2019, I have gone on to compete at SAPSF Nationals in 2023, where I placed 1st in the Semi-Professional Artistic Aerial Hoop division and 2nd in the Professional Aerial Sport division. I’ve also had the privilege of performing at various events and shows - each experience only deepening my appreciation and love for the craft.
Over the last four years, my passion for Aerial Arts has evolved into a passion for teaching and sharing the Aerial experience with others. As an instructor, my goal is not only to help you develop strong technical skills, but also to support you in building confidence and connection within your own body. I founded Soul Aerial Studio with the vision of creating a safe, supportive, and uplifting space—where we can come together to explore, grow, and share our love for Aerial Arts and movement.

Movement has been my language for as long as I can remember. From ballet and gymnastics to various dance styles, I’ve spent my life exploring the limits of what the body can achieve. Along the way, I was introduced to the circus world, where I fell in love with the aerial hoop.
However, after a series of injuries and hip surgery, I feared my days in the air were over. I turned to Pilates in 2016 for rehabilitation, and it quickly became a core part of my routine, eventually leading to my certification in 2024.
The most incredible part of this journey has been returning to the air, something I didn't think was possible. Jennifer encouraged me to get back on the hoop, and her unwavering support is the reason I’m back doing what I love. It is a true testament to the supportive, beautiful environment she creates. Today, I’m thrilled to teach Pilates and aerial fitness, using my own history of recovery to help others build bodies that are as strong as they are capable.

Toni Thord-Gray
I was first introduced to fire performance in my teens long before I ever considered the possibilities of aerial dance. It was only after I was introduced to climbing that I started obsessing over experiencing freedom of movement in the air through aerial hoop and silks.
I currently work as an freelance performer and instructor having more than 10 years of experience in the performance industry. I have performed for theatre shows, weddings, festivals, corporate events and with notable companies Firetribe (CT) and Parolabianca (IT, ZA). I co-founded the South African Aerial Dance Festival (2022, 2023) with Charlotte Lau and have instructed aerial at various studios across Cape Town, including Allegro Rhythmic Gymnastics and Dance.
Over the years I have realised my unique set of skills and knowledge is the perfect background to form a deeper understanding of the human body and the biomechanics in Circus. Recently I received my certificate in Sports Massage and I am currently finishing my Diploma in Fitness and Sports Conditioning.
I am currently obsessed with Cordelisse (aka Aerial Rope) and am enjoying feeling like a beginner again whilst experimenting on a new aerial apparatus.
